Muker, a small village in Upper Swaledale, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, benefits from two public spaces, its Public Hall and Muker Literary Institute.  Each has different histories and characteristics.  Until recently they both had separate Trustees but both sets of Trustees have voted to amalgamate and this is in now in the process of being finalised.  Both are available to hire (see Hiring).  Please contact us if you are interested in hiring either or both venues.

The Lower room of the Literary Institute now houses a free public exhibition of photos and artefacts.  It is open most days in the daytime unless the room is being used for other purposes.  Please click here for further information.

We hope you find this site interesting and useful.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE STILL RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF MUKER HALL AND THE INSTITUTE DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK. WE WILL PROVIDE UPDATES ON THE SITUATION REGARDING THE HALL AND INSTITUTE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES, AS WE ARE MADE AWARE OF THESE.
