Muker Hall was built in 1922 and had a major refurbishment in 1997 and has an  ongoing development programme.

It is well equipped with:

  • seated capacity of 120 in audience style and 80 at tables.
  • stage and modern multimedia facilities including sound system, ceiling-mounted projector and electric drop down screen.
  • catering kitchen
  • toilets

The hall is used by community groups on a regular basis  and is available to hire for evenings, half days or full days.  It has been used in various ways including concerts (including the Muker Silver Band and local folk groups), wedding and funeral receptions, professional workshops and craft exhibitions.  If you are interested in hiring, please see the Hiring page and contact us (Contact).

The hall is a charity (Number 1098816) run by Trustees.  In April 2019, the Trustees were approached by the Trustees of the Muker Literary Institute who were keen to amalgamate the two bodies in the interests of sustainability for the community.  This was approved and is in the process of being formalised.  Details of how to contact the current officers for the joint body are available here.
